Biographical

Born Germany 1965; raised Atlanta (Druid Hills) and Appalachia.  Complex relations to the South, to Germany, and to military.  Serious soccer.  Telluride, Deep Springs.  Serious injuries.  Woodruff Scholar at Emory (mathematics, German, very liberal arts).  Internship in Bundestag (SPD), free study in Germany.  More free study, Emory Law School.  Climbing, notably Switzerland, Denali & Peru.  Endurance sports.  Harvard Law School, Ford Fellow in International Law.  Married, Amy Deen Westbrook.  More free study, Louvain, Belgium. Clerked,  Federal Circuit.  Practiced, Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering.  SUNY Buffalo Law School, currently  Del Cotto Professor.  Three children, wondrous.  Ski racing.   Numerous books, well received by small audiences.  Some poetry, photography, etc.  Global speaking, much for State Department.  Multidisciplinary audiences.  East Aurora, Lawrence, and (mostly) Fairplay.
