Born Germany 1965; raised Atlanta (Druid Hills) and Appalachia. Complex relations to the South, to Germany, and to military. Serious soccer. Telluride, Deep Springs. Serious injuries. Climbing, notably Switzerland, Denali & Peru. Endurance sports. Harvard Law School, Ford Fellow in International Law. Married, Amy Deen Westbrook. More free study, Louvain, Belgium. Clerked, Federal Circuit. Practiced, Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering. SUNY Buffalo Law School, currently Del Cotto Professor. Three children, wondrous. Ski racing.
